Multi-Fuel Burners

To control fuel costs and to provide a layer of protection from security of supply issues, many power plants are seeking to have the capability to fire a wider range of fuels, beyond original equipment design. To support the objectives of these plants, RJM has developed a multi-fuel burner that can fire coal, gas or oil.

Most recently, with all thermal power plants now committed to reducing their carbon emissions, RJM has developed a new generation, ultra-low NOx burner that enables power plants to co-fire coal with biomass material.

This option is particularly attracttive to coal-fired plants in the Asia-Pacific region where there are abundant supplies of biomass material in the form of crop waste.

Outstanding performance

  • Ultra-Low NOx capability
  • Multi-fuel nozzles
  • Full load operation on coal, oil, gas or biomass
  • Designed for retrofit
  • Customised to suit existing plant

RJM plan for two new fuel silos and conveyors to enable a coal-fired power plant to co-fire with biomass.
