Country:
Malaysia
Location:
Jimah East, Port Dickson
Fuel Type:
Coal

Key challenges

Jimah East Power (JEP), consisting of 2 x 1,000MW ultra super-critical opposed wall-fired boilers was experiencing several operational challenges and engaged RJM to help identify the root cause of the issues at the plant and come up with a mitigation plan.

RJM Solution

RJM carried out a Combustion Audit and a Fuel Assessment study to get a better understanding of the root cause factors affecting combustion and the impact of coal quality on plant performance.

Results

The Combustion Audit and Fuel Assessment findings were well received by JEP and RJM has also submitted further proposals to mitigate the identified issues.
