ENDS Report has confirmed that RJM’s customer Energy Works Hull has been named by the LCCC as the only advanced gasification plant (out of nine) to qualify for the CfD subsidy scheme.

“I would like to thank RJM for its support which helped us successfully pass the 95% installed capacity test. This enabled Energy Works Hull to qualify for the subsidy scheme. I believe RJM was instrumental in the screw design, screw speed and fuel feed operation to help us achieve this. I also think the RJM approach of great ideas, designing, modelling and implementing has helped us with this success,” said Mark Roberts, Head of Engineering, Bioenergy Infrastructure Group. https://rjm-international.com/about-us/

ENDS Report stated: “The government-owned Low Carbon Contracts Company, which runs the Contracts for Difference (CfD) subsidy system, reviewed the progress of projects supported under it last year. Of the nine ‘advanced conversion technologies’ projects in the first and second CfD rounds, only one had made a ‘final installed capacity’, BIG’s Energy Works (Hull). But the plant had a troubled beginning, its commissioning having been delayed by years and its initial builder thrown off the job. Five other projects dropped out of the CfD process entirely. https://www.endsreport.com/article/1740851/gas-went-wrong-uks-gasification-industry

RJM has been working at Energy Works Hull and its sister operation, Ince Bio Power, for the past two years, on a range of combustion improvement and performance upgrade initiatives to improve reliability and output.
