SSE’s power plant at Ferrybridge in the north of England generates a total of 2,000MWe from four coal-fired units. The plant was keen to address a number combustion issues including reducing NOx levels and reducing the excessively high temperatures in the superheater and reheater areas.

In this article, John Goldring, Managing Director of RJM explains how RJM tackled this assignment and how RJM’s innovative approach has breathed new life into the plant, making it a world leader in NOx reduction.
