You will be offered the opportunity to rotate through different departments including process engineering, business development and project management. If you have a particular interest in CFD or 3D modelling / engineering drawing, there is the opportunity to work within those teams and develop your skills to an industry level. An engineering placement with RJM offers the opportunity to: • Work with experienced engineers on real company projects to deliver innovative engineering solutions to clients. • Interact with different engineering disciplines, roles and levels of the company. • Accompany senior team members on site visits and sales trips, potentially abroad. • Receive mentoring and professional development from experienced engineers. Located at the Winchester Head Office, the placement will run for 12 months. Applicants should meet the following criteria: • In their third year of study for a Masters degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering degree relevant to the energy industry • A minimum 2:1 grade should be expected. • Applicants must have the ability to work in the UK. We are seeking applicants who are enthusiastic, analytical, able to work in a team, keen to grow and develop and act with a high level of professionality. The position offers a salary of £19,000 with an additional discretionary bonus. A successful placement could also lead to an offer of a full-time role, post-graduation. This includes a sponsorship element for the final year of study, the only requirements being a minimum 2:1 degree and remaining with the company for two years. More than half of our Industrial Placement Year positions have led to full-time employment offers. All applications should consist of a CV with a covering letter (including course results) and should be sent to Pennie Lestock-Reid, Administration Manager. E-mail: [email protected] Closing date for applications: Friday 24th March 2023. Interviews will take place in Winchester 18 or 19th April 2023. Please let us know your availability in your letter of application. ENDS
- RJM grows its presence in Asia-Pacific
RJM International, the award-winning provider of innovative combustion improvement and emissions reduction technologies and equipment to the power generation and large combustion plant sectors worldwide, announces today that it has completed the first stage of expanding its operations in the Asia-Pacific region by registering a new operating company in Malaysia. The new company, RJM Malaysia SDN. BHD, has been set up to enable the growing number of RJM projects in Malaysia to be managed more effectively via a local office, which will be set up in the capital Kuala Lumpur and manned by an international team of RJM employees, including several Malaysian nationals. RJM has been steadily growing its business in the Asia-Pacific region in recent years, with major long-term performance upgrade projects still ongoing in Hong Kong and Vietnam, as well as a pollution-busting programme of new RJM ultra-low NOx CleanAirBurners™ retrofitted to district heating plants throughout Beijing. In Malaysia, RJM has recently won new assignments at a number of power generation sites operated by different owners, providing significant business growth opportunities. Commenting on the new Malaysian entity for RJM, John Goldring, Managing Director said, “Setting up a new company in Malaysia marks another milestone in our Asia-Pacific growth plan. “This is a compelling offer for customers who need expert, third party support to enable them to upgrade and optimise their plants’ performance to improve efficiency and reliability, as well as to reduce carbon emissions and to consider, where appropriate, new renewable, carbon-neutral fuels. ”The next stage will be to find new premises in Kuala Lumpur and build a team of engineers to manage the projects, with support from our other teams in Singapore, the USA and the UK,” he added. RJM Malaysia has been registered as a subsidiary of RJM’s Singapore-based company, RJM Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd., which was itself established in 2017. ENDS

- RJM appointed exclusive distributor for IMPULSE® Cleaning System
RJM will market the IMPULSE Cleaning System in the UK, Europe and Asia-Pacific, as the exclusive licensed distributor for PowerPlus Cleaning Systems Inc. of Missouri, USA RJM International, the award-winning provider of innovative emissions reduction and combustion improvement technologies and equipment to the power generation and large combustion plant sectors worldwide, announces today that is now selling the highly successful IMPULSE Cleaning System in the UK, Europe and Asia-Pacific. More than 290 IMPULSE Cleaning systems have now been successfully installed at power generation units across the USA. They are enabling these power plants to operate campaigns of longer duration, with higher efficiency rates and with reduced downtime between outages, by significantly reducing the build-up of fused ash deposits. The IMPULSE boiler cleaning system is a development of the pulse detonation propulsion technology pioneered by GE at its Global Research Center. The cleaning technology is based around a supersonic shock wave that is created by the detonation of a mixture of fuel and air. IMPULSE cleaning technology delivers dramatic improvements in the online cleaning of boiler heat transfer surfaces, when compared to conventional cleaning systems. The pulse waves also work effectively as a non-line-of-site cleaning system, removing deposits without erosive damage to heat transfer surfaces or refractory, unlike conventional cleaning methods. The IMPULSE system is also self-contained and has no need to tap into expensive plant steam. The key advantages of the IMPULSE Cleaning System are as follows: Effective and efficient on-line cleaning system No erosion or damage to heat transfer surfaces Low Opex and maintenance; innovative design avoids moving parts Minimal intrusion into boiler means small installation footprint and low installation cost Does not scavenge plant steam, therefore no reduction in exported power Negligible recoil from proprietary detonation technology Non line-of-site cleaning; better coverage than sootblowers Significantly less expensive capital cost and lower operational costs than its competitors Suitable for all boilers, all sizes, all combustion technologies and all fuels Proven technology with over 290 installations in the USA Commenting on the licensing agreement, Dr. Gerry Riley, Head of Business Development at RJM said, “As power generators widen their fuel diets, they are experiencing considerably increased levels of fouling. “This is particularly so in the biomass and Energy from Waste segments of the market, where there is a wide variation in the consistency of the fuel – even within the same fuel classification. “What this means in practice is that generators are not able to operate at full capacity as they are having to take long, unplanned outages to remove excessive deposits. “With the IMPULSE cleaning system, ash build-ups can be managed to allow units to operate for longer, at higher loads and at higher efficiency levels. “Major waste management companies such as Covanta and WIN Waste Innovations (formerly Wheelabrator Technologies) are already using the IMPULSE cleaning system to good effect in the USA, so we know that other operators of biomass and Energy from Waste plants in the UK and Europe will also stand to benefit. “Having already presented the distinct advantages of the IMPULSE cleaning system, we now have several UK and Scandinavian customers lined up to install this technology to improve operational performance,” he confirmed. -ENDS- For further information, please contact: Christopher Biggs, Head of Global Marketing, RJM International T + 44 (0)7796 171091 E [email protected]
